What To Do Between Freelance Writing Gigs?

Why haven't I been posting? Well, it comes down to scheduling and not having the answers to certain questions. Right now I'm without freelancing work. That always puts me in an odd frame of mind, like I may not get anything new. Conversely, it also provides this huge, open field of questions that need answered like whether I should take advantage of the gap to find different freelance writing? Are there new venues to be explored while I develop other writing projects. Should I continue to hunt for a venue that will give me a byline? I'm at the headlands of new possibilities. There is a certain amount of fear in this.

Here I am balancing the pros and cons to my position. Naturally, I must start factoring in my absolute need for new assignments or projects so I can meet my financial obligations. That's my square one - a most important point I must say. Now that I have a new house, the supplementary income I supply to my househould is even more necessary. (I'm charged with coming up with the mortgage payment now!)

As such, my desires for more creative outlets must be balanced with more practical needs. That's always a hard balance to strike - at least for me it is.

One of the challenges I'm facing is what to do with my other ideas such as developing this blog further? Obviously, I do not want to abandon them just because I'm hard up for more freelance writing. That is definitely not the business mindset I wish to convey into any other projects I develop. The point is to make things easier not harder.

That's what I'm trying to figure out right now. If I sit here and really conceive a plan that can be carried out, I hope I will determine what will be the best direction for all my ideas, including this blog.

Wish me luck!
