Barely Moved The Needle

Didn't I say this writing everyday thing could be challenging?

Last night a managed to advance the story just a little but, but I did not even come close to hitting the minimum daily word count on the novel. I only managed about 30 words. (Yes, you read that correctly.) Mostly, this happened because I kept putting off until it go to late and I was too tired to do anything with it. So, yes, I procrastinated and I haven't come up with a good plan to make sure I fit in the time to write fiction.

I did manage to write a blog post (and I'm writing this one today) so I am making progress with that goal. But, even there I seek room for improvement as I gain more focus--which again comes down to good planning. Over all I need to figure out how I can make the time needed to hit all of my writing goals.

If you're a writer too then you've went through all of this too and can relate. You've probably read the same articles I did. Everybody's offering  system, a way to increase productivity, and a slew of time management hacks. There's really something for everybody out there on the web.

The biggest thing I have to say about the whole issue is that I'm not here to make excuses for why it didn't work out. I know that for the most part, it is simply my fault that I did not hit the target. Self-discipline is not my strong suit and it is a struggle for me sometimes. I don't want to sound like a whiner, because I don't mean to be.

I'm just saying that I understand. I can see where many of you, my fellow writers, are coming from and I know where you'd like to go.

I am going to stop right here because I haven't started any fiction yet to day and it's getting late. I do hope to share a victory with you tomorrow. If you'd like to share yours with me, feel free to post a comment.
